Ask any vintage chronograph collector and chances are that ‘Gallet’ will be mentioned. Gallet is the world’s oldest watch and clock making house with history dating back to Humbertus Gallet, a clock maker who became a citizen of Genève in 1466

In 1945, Gallet introduces the MultiChron Yachting chronograph. The Yachting is the world’s first wrist chronograph with 15-10-5 regatta count down timer for racing. The purpose of yachting chronographs are to allow the skipper to keep track of the countdown period before a yacht race begins. The counter is divided into 5 min segments and allows the wearer to count down from 15min before the regatta begins.

Besides it use on the water, the MultiChron Yachting functions as an all-purpose 45 minute chronograph.
